POSITION TITLE: FINANCIAL CONSULTANT
DEPARTMENT: BANGOR SECURITIES
FUNCTION:
Meets the investment needs of Bank and subsidiary customers through relationship development
and sales of approved products and services. Assists clients in establishing financial goals and
creating investment programs to achieve those goals.
DUTIES:

E 1. Assists Bank and subsidiary customers to establish financial goals and creates investment
programs to achieve those goals.
E 2. Achieves assigned business development goals by actively selling approved financial products.
E 3. Cross-markets products and services for all areas of the Bank and its subsidiaries.
E 4. Develops branch and business line referral network by mentoring and team building with
branch and business line employees.
E 5. Periodically reviews client investment holdings and recommends appropriate investment actions.
E 6. Assists clients in developing complex estate plans using wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare
declarations and other appropriate planning techniques.
E 7. Stays current with investing and financial planning fields with emphasis on more complex and sophisticated developments.
8. Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of Bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.
9. Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook.
10. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required. CFP or equivalent certification is desirable. NASD Series 7, 66
licenses required. Life, Health and Variable Contract licenses required. Computer skills and related software programs. 5
plus years experience in the financial services or related sales field (e.g. insurance, brokerage, trust, financial
planning, etc.) with strong emphasis on sales.
Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
General office environment. Moderate lifting to 35 lbs. Heavy driving as much as 5000 miles/month. Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and
standing required.
Equipment Used:
General office equipment. Bank Laptop PC with word processing and spreadsheet capabilities. May require use of personal vehicle.
