General Information

Question: What is Bangor Online?
Answer: Bangor Online is Bangor Savings Bank’s Retail Internet Banking service. Bangor Online is available 24 hours a day. You may review the current status of your Bangor Savings Bank accounts, make transfers between your accounts, and even look at and print images of checks and deposit slips. You may also download account information into personal financial management software for easy and quick account reconcilement.

Question: How much does it cost?
Answer: Personal banking customers are not charged for the use of Bangor Online. Small business customers and sole proprietors can pay as little as $5.00 a month. Banking charges for other accounts and services are as published in Bangor Savings Bank’s Schedule of Fees and Truth in Savings brochure, please stop by your local branch for a copy.

Set-Up Instructions

Question: How do I sign up?
Answer: If you are currently a Bangor Savings Bank customer, your personal accounts (except credit card accounts) can be accessed on-line. You may sign up for Bangor Online access by completing and submitting an online application (LINK).

Question: What kind of Internet browser must I have to use Bangor Online?
Answer: Please make sure that your browser supports both SSL encryption and 128-bit encryption. You can check this by following the instructions provided online by clicking on the "sign up now" option, beside the "Online Banking" icon at the top of our homepage. You can also check with your software manufacturer to ensure proper encryption levels.

Question: How do I add accounts to my service?
Answer: When you open an account with Bangor Savings Bank, the account will automatically be added to your existing service within 48 hours.

Question: How do I make Bangor Savings Bank my Home Page?
Answer: To make it easier to access your account information, make Bangor Savings Bank your home page.

For Netscape Navigator Users: Select <Edit>, <Preference> and select the “Navigator” category. Under the section labeled “Navigator starts with”, select <Home Page>. Enter this URL in the space provided: “http://www.bangor.com”, and click <OK>.
For Internet Explorer users: Select <Tools>, <Internet Options>, and click on the <General> tab. Within the “Home page - Address” field enter “http://www.bangor.com”, and click <OK>.

Account Management & Security

Question: How do I change my Password?
Answer: You may change your Password by accessing the "options" tab from your accounts page.

Question: What happens if I forget my Bangor Online Password or get locked out of the system?
Answer: You are allowed three invalid ID or Password attempts before being locked out of the system. To have your account unlocked, please contact our Customer Service Center by calling  1.877.Bangor1 (226-4671), or by e-mailing us at BangorOnline@bangor.com. Following proper identification, your Password will be reset back to the original settings disclosed in your Bangor Online letter.

Question: Can I change my Bangor Online ID to something (alias name) I can remember?
Answer: The Bangor Online ID change can be made by you at any time by selecting the "options" tab from your accounts page.

Question: How do I assign an alternative name (pseudonym) to my accounts?
Answer: The account name change can be made by you at any time by selecting the "options" tab, followed by the "account" tab from your accounts page.

Question: What happens if I forget to log off the system?
Answer: Bangor Online has an additional security feature. The system will automatically log you out if you are inactive for more than 10 minutes.

Question: Why is the time displayed on Bangor Online one hour behind Eastern Standard Time? Can I fix that?
Answer: The time reflects Central Standard Time, and our online host is located in that time zone. Unfortunately, that cannot be changed.

Online Activities & Availability

Question: Can I download my account information?
Answer: Your account data can be downloaded into Quicken Basic (.QIF format), Quicken Deluxe (.QFX format), QuickBooks (.IIF format), or Microsoft Money (.OFX format). The information can also be downloaded as a text file or as a comma-delimited file into a spreadsheet.

Question: Why does the system log me off after I download my account data?
Answer: For security reasons, the system is designed to log you off after the account information download is completed.

Question: How long is account history retained?
Answer: Account history records are on file and available for viewing for 90 days for retail accounts and 60 days for business accounts.

Question: Why am I able to see closed accounts and loans that have been paid off?
Answer: Bangor Savings Bank makes your customer information available just as it appears at the Bank. Closed accounts are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Question: Can I view an account on Bangor Online for which I am not an authorized signer?
Answer: No, if you want access to an account for which you are not an authorized signer, you must be added to the signature card for that account. Please contact the Bangor Savings Bank Customer Service Center at 1.877.Bangor1 (226-4671) for more information.

Question: When viewing my Current Transactions, why are my check numbers underlined? What does “View image” mean beside my deposit transactions?
Answer: The underscore indicates that an image of your check or deposit slip is available for your review by clicking on the item. You may rotate the image or view the other side by clicking the appropriate link at the top of the page.

Question: Why doesn’t all of my transaction data print from the Current Transaction page? Some of the information is cut off on the right-hand side.
Answer: You must change the Page Orientation to “landscape” in order to print all of the account information.

Question: Is there a cutoff time for transfers between my accounts?
Answer: To ensure credit on the same day of the transfer request, please make your requests prior to 6:00 p.m. EST. Any transfer requests received after 6:00 p.m. EST will be processed on the following business day.

Question: Can I view my credit card information on Bangor Online?
Answer: No, but you may contact our Customer Service Center at 1.877.Bangor1 (226-4671) for information regarding your credit card account.

Question: Can I place a stop payment on a check through Bangor Online?
