Our History
Bangor Insurance, is a Maine-based insurance agency that is owned by Bangor Savings Bank. In 1997, following a national trend of financial services reform, the Maine Legislature acted to allow Maine banks to offer insurance products to their customers. Bangor Savings Bank responded quickly, not just to the new law, but, more importantly, to a survey of Bangor Savings Bank customers who said they would be receptive to buying insurance where they bank. Bangor Insurance was incorporated in 1997.
