Bangor Savings Bank Announces COVID-19 Response

BANGOR, Maine – Today, Bangor Savings Bank announced proactive measures to allow for social and physical distancing of employees and customers while continuing all banking functions and services. The bank is following the guidance of the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and state health departments throughout northern New England in taking steps to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. 
 
All Bangor Savings’ branches across Maine and New Hampshire will continue to provide normal drive-up teller and ATM service. Beginning Wednesday, all branch lobbies and staff will be available by appointment. The changes to lobby access ensure that banking services and functions are available to customers while also allowing for the physical distancing recommended by health and safety officials. Customers who use online and mobile banking, ATMs, and phone banking continue with the normal day-to-day banking experience, and customer service through the bank’s call center, Bangor Support, will be available as usual.

Additionally, nearly 650 Bangor Savings employees will begin working from home on Tuesday. The bank is well prepared for remote working as laptops and secure access are standard practice for employees. 
Over the last several weeks, Bangor Savings Bank has implemented precautionary measures at all bank locations, including regular sanitization of high touch points, enhanced cleaning protocols, and regular communications and updates to employees and customers.
