BANGOR, Maine – The first Bangor Savings Bank Parking for a Cause program drove in enough to make it possible for the Bank to make donations of $2,500 each to 18 area nonprofits.
During the Bangor Waterfront Concerts series, Bangor Savings opened its new Hamlin Way parking garage to concert attendees. The bank selected 18 nonprofit organizations from Bangor, Brewer, Old Town, and surrounding towns to split the gross proceeds from parking fees and will provide a check for $2,500 to each nonprofit.
“We were pleased to open our Bangor Waterfront parking garage in support of 18 local nonprofits,” said Bangor Savings Bank President and CEO Bob Montgomery-Rice. “We thank the community, including the public and our own customers and employees, for coming together to support the program.”
Bangor organizations receiving funding from the 2019 Parking for a Cause program are:
Literacy Volunteers, Wellspring, Inc., Shaw House, Good Samaritan Agency, My Friends Place, Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse, Bangor Humane Society, Bangor Area Homeless Shelter, Partners for Peace, Bangor Area Recovery Network, Boys & Girls Club of Bangor, Champion the Cure Challenge, Maine Junior Black Bears, and Furry Friends Food Bank at Eastern Area Agency on Aging.
Proceeds will also go to Brewer Area Food Cupboard, Camp Capella of Dedham, Old Town Animal Orphanage, and Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Food Pantry of Hermon.
