Bangor, ME: The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation continues its commitment to supporting Northern New England communities with $195,000 in grants awarded to 22 nonprofit organizations. These grants aim to positively impact Maine and New Hampshire organizations dedicated to uplifting communities in areas such as housing, healthcare, education, and community recreation."As a steward of our communities, we share in the inspiring vision of these organizations and work together to strengthen our communities," said Bob Montgomery-Rice, President and CEO of Bangor Savings Bank. "These recipients dedicate their time to serving diverse needs through their programming and services, which further the well-being of the region.”
One recipient is MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Maine, for which the Foundation awarded a $75,000 multi-year grant ($25,000 over three years). MaineGeneral, Central Maine's largest and sole community hospital, offers comprehensive healthcare services for all ages. As the third largest healthcare system in the State, MaineGeneral includes the 198-bed Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, the state's largest outpatient center (Thayer Center for Health in Waterville), a regional cancer center, primary and specialty care practices, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation services, home health care, hospice, specialized memory care, and community outreach programs.
The grant will support the expansion of the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care with increased exam rooms, improved patient flow, dedicated space for education and support programs, and additional services for patients battling cancer.

Harbor Care is an innovative nonprofit, integrating housing, healthcare, and other vital services to help some of New Hampshire’s most vulnerable adults, children, and families find solutions to many of life’s most challenging issues.
It provides housing, employment, and support for veterans and their families through its Veterans FIRST program. The grant will assist in offering food, transportation, employment placement, and essentials for veterans transitioning from homelessness. Harbor Care envisions a community where everyone lives safe, stable, and healthy lives, filled with purpose, respect, and dignity.

River City Athletics
Holden, Penobscot County, Maine
River City Athletics was established to meet the needs of the Eastern, Central, and Northern Maine youth sports community. Its goal is to provide affordable options for all families and athletes to develop their skills and abilities while maintaining their passion for the sport they love in a safe, friendly environment with highly trained staff and volunteers committed to players of all skill levels.
The grant will assist in the construction of a sports complex, fulfilling the mission of River City Athletics and empowering Maine sports enthusiasts of all backgrounds to reach their full potential.

Trinity Jubilee Center
Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine
Trinity Jubilee Center addresses the unmet needs of under-served people in Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn community through collaboration with local, state, and federal organizations and other agencies. It meets these needs through services that include a community integration program for job hunting and immigration support, a resource center that includes a free medical clinic, hygiene and clothing supplies, phone services, a mailing address, mental health referral services, and a holiday wish list program, as well as a soup kitchen, food pantry, and a day shelter.
The grant supports the construction of Trinity Jubilee Center's new facility, specifically funding their Client Services Office. This central hub will connect thousands of Mainers with employment, housing, essential supplies, and more.
