Bangor, ME: The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation has awarded over $86,000 in grants to 27 nonprofit organizations across Northern New England. These grant awards underscore the Foundation’s continued commitment to building vibrant, resilient communities by supporting organizations that expand access to initiatives, including essential services, foster youth development, and support vulnerable populations.

These grants support nonprofits that bring awareness to literacy and education, expand food security, promote mental health, ensure housing stability, and advance community wellness.

Action for Health and Employment Access Development (AHEAD)
Bangor, Penobscot, ME
AHEAD supports immigrants in Maine through English as a Second Language (ESL) and financial literacy programs. The grant will fund learning materials, transportation, mentorship, and program coordination to help individuals improve workplace communication and achieve personal goals.

Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry
Ellsworth, Hancock, ME
Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry provides groceries and dignity to Hancock County residents experiencing food insecurity. The grant will help purchase supplemental groceries for the pantry’s over 5,100 individuals from more than 2,000 local families, who are expected to make 20,000 visits in 2025.

SCORE
Derry, Statewide, NH
SCORE is a volunteer-driven organization that provides free mentoring and educational workshops to entrepreneurs across New Hampshire. With a network of approximately 50 experienced volunteer mentors, SCORE NH provides guidance in areas such as business planning, accounting, operations, marketing, and more. Last year alone, the chapter delivered over 5,000 services to entrepreneurs across the state, excluding the Seacoast region. Funds will be used to help recruit volunteer mentors, conduct client feedback surveys, and expand outreach.

The Pittsfield Youth Workshop
Pittsfield, Merrimack, NH
The Pittsfield Youth Workshop (PYW) provides free, year-round programming for youth in grades 6–12, offering a safe and supportive space for creativity, connection, and personal growth. PYW serves approximately 200 youth annually and has been a vital community resource since 1986. The grant will support the Drop-In Center and access to after-school and school break programming, as well as new equipment and supplies for special programming–including the cooking club, arts and crafts, music, and recreational opportunities–ensuring continued access to enriching experiences throughout the year.
